FMS sign Pizzonia for 2007
Antonio Pizzonia will return to racing in Europe with Fisichella Motor Sport in the GP2 Series next year
The Brazilian has performed well in winter testing with the team, and he recently said that he had to choose between the Formula One support series and a drive in Champ Car.
"I want to return to F1 as soon as I can, this is why I have accepted this challenge," said Pizzonia. "Our target is the same: win the GP2 championship.
"This is also a chance to remind everyone in Formula One that I am always fast and competitive."
Team owner Giancarlo Fisichella added: "We want to win the 2007 championship, and we signed Antonio because we believe he's going to do it.
"He has been incredibly fast during winter testing, confirming what we expected from such an experienced driver."
FMS scored three wins last season with another former F1 driver, Giorgio Pantano.
The team have also confirmed that Turkish driver Jason Tahinci will remain with them for a second season.
