Carroll fastest in France practice
Adam Carroll continued his and Racing Engineering's strong Silverstone form by heading the free practice session for the GP2 rounds at Magny-Cours this weekend
The Briton outpaced his nearest rival, BCN's Hiro Yoshimoto, by almost two tenths of a second in the 30-minute session.
Former championship leader Nelson Piquet Jr got his weekend off to a promising start by setting the third best time, while Lewis Hamilton - who heads the points - was back in ninth, one place behind ART teammate Alex Premat.
Olivier Pla was fourth fastest on his return to the series following his broken wrist, while mid-season test pace setter Jose Maria Lopez was fifth fastest.
