Bruni Rues Missed Points

Gianmaria Bruni was disappointed to have missed out on the points that could have handed him the championship lead in race two at Barcelona

Bruni had a strong start to the race, overtaking Fairuz Fauzy on the first lap for sixth place, and was looking for more after a restart when he was involved in a three-way battle with Scott Speed and Neel Jani.

He noted: "It was just a shame because I was pretty quick today and I got past Fauzy with no problem. I was behind Scott and pushing him but so was Jani, and he came across behind Scott because he didn't see me and hit my left front wheel. The suspension broke and that was it."

Despite the retirement Bruni is in third place in the championship on eighteen points, two behind joint leaders Speed and Heikki Kovalainen.

Bruni had no hard feelings over the accident, which he labeled a racing incident, before continuing: "For sure I was fast today, and I could have got some good points and maybe taken the lead in the championship, but unfortunately not.

"Neel came and apologised after, but it was just one of those things."
