Parente already considering future
Newly-crowned World Series by Renault champion Alvaro Parente says that he has already turned his attention to his next career move
The Portuguese driver sealed the title in Saturday's race at Barcelona with a third place finish, but he does not intend to spend very long basking in the glory of his success.
As part of his prize for winning the championship, Parente will get the chance to test with the Renault F1 team, and the 23-year-old is hoping that he can use the test to generate opportunities for him to progress his career.
"Obviously I'm really happy to have secured the title," he said. "We knew that we would be competitive here once again and we proved just that.
"I really can't wait to test the Renault F1 car and I hope that it will provide me with an opportunity to develop my career still further."
Parente, who won the British F3 title in 2005, won this year's championship by 27 points ahead of Renault development driver Ben Hanley.
