Danielsson signs with Comtec
Alx Danielsson has signed to fill the second seat at new World Series by Renault squad Comtec this season
Danielsson drove the majority of the World Series last year with DAMS, however he missed the final two rounds of the season after splitting with the French squad. He also missed the Monaco round after a leg-breaking accident in Zolder.
The Swede, whose best result was second in Bilbao last season, was looking for a deal in GP2 but it collapsed.
"We had a GP2-deal that fell through in the last minute and it all looked a bit dark and gloomy until this opportunity arrived," said Danielsson. "Comtec is a great team with a good pedigree from other categories. They have no other intention than to be a winning team.
"I am very impressed with their preparations for the upcoming season and this will actually be an even better opportunity for me to advance my career."
Danielsson will join Edwin Jowsey at the team. Comtec had originally signed Susie Stoddart, before she was snapped up by Mercedes for the DTM.
