Kane secures Epsilon Euskadi seat

British Formula Three race winner Steven Kane will move to the World Series by Renault after securing a deal with reigning champion squad Epsilon Euskadi for this year's World Series by Renault, according to this week's Autosport

Northern Ireland driver Kane, who is supported by former World Champion Damon Hill, will partner Italian Davide Valsecchi at the Spanish team, who won the title with BMW Sauber tester Robert Kubica in 2005.

"This will be my big chance and I'm looking forward to it," Kane said. "We decided that if the opportunity was there to go with a championship-winning World series team then it would be better than running midfield in GP2.

"I haven't tested for them yet, but I've been to meet them and they're the most professional junior team I've every seen."

The move is the latest in a raft of World Series by Renault driver signings in recent weeks.

Former Spanish F3 champion and GP2 driver Borja Garcia has joined RC motorsport with Frenchman Bruce Jouanny.

Brazilian Carlos Iaconelli has joined Interwetten, having driven for them at the final meeting of last season at Monza.

A1 GP driver Robbie Kerr and Sean McIntosh were yesterday announced as KTR's lead drivers, and last month Honda test driver James Rossiter signed with Pons to move up from the F3 Euroseries.
