Walker aims to confirm plans soon
World Series by Renault race winner James Walker is hoping to finalise his plans to remain in the category within the next week
The Briton won one race last year for Fortec Motorsport in his rookie season and he is currently in the final stages of talks with teams to decide on who he will race with in 2008.
Speaking on stage at the Autosport International Show, Walker said: "We were hoping to reveal our plans here this weekend, but discussions are taking longer than we thought they would.
"But we've narrowed it down to two teams and hopefully in the next week it will get sorted."
Walker believes that the success of former World Series drivers Robert Kubica and Sebastian Vettel in Formula One has helped boost the prestige of the category.
"It is a great training ground," he said. "People like Vettel have proved that if you are quick in this then you are quick in F1, so he and Vettel have boosted the reputation of the championship."
