Watts takes sensational Thruxton win
Danny Watts scored a sensational win on his one-off return to Formula Three at Thruxton today
But it wasn't all good news for Double R Racing, as Bruno Senna lost ground to Oliver Jarvis (Carlin Motorsport) in his quest for second place in the championship.
Watts led from start to finish, but rarely by very much as four of the class' heavyweights chased him all the way. Jarvis stayed second throughout, but there was plenty of shuffling behind him.
Senna was close behind Jarvis in the beginning, with champion Mike Conway and Yelmer Buurman (Fortec Motorsport), close behind him. Conway pulled off a fine mid-race move on Senna at the chicane, and this allowed Buurman to get by as well.
But later Buurman passed Conway, and Conway's attempt to reclaim the place at the chicane went wrong. The pair made contact and were both out of the running, but not before delaying Senna. This allowed Jelley to sneak through into second place.
