Engel leads Carlin front row
Carlin Motorsport locked out the front row for the second Nritish Formula Three race at Thruxton, with German Maro Engel taking pole position ahead of Oliver Jarvis, who will start both races from second place
The damp session was red-flagged with 10 minutes to go when National Class runner Rodolfo Avila went off at Village. By the time it was restarted the circuit was too wet for dry tyres and the order remained unchanged to the end.
That meant the Double R pairing of Bruno Senna and Danny Watts were unable to improve their times and remained in 10th and 11th places.
Stephen Jelley, James Jakes and Alberto Valerio were pleased the circuit didn't dry in time for any improvements because they held on to third, fourth and fifth places respectively, with champion Mike Conway sixth again.
Finn Juho Annala this time led the National Class in 12th place, with Greg Mansell between himself and class champion Rodolfo Gonzalez.
