Trident takes over Addax entry for 2012 GP3 season
Trident Racing will compete in the GP3 Series in the 2012 season, having taken over the Addax team's entry
The squad owned by Maurizio Salvadori already competes in GP2 and will join the feeder series for the start of its third season in 2012.
"The arrival of Trident Racing in GP3 represents a really important part of a much wider program which started in 2011 with a revamp in our technical compartment," said Salvadori.
"This season we cruised to three wins and it's been a positive one despite the tough break suffered with Stefano Coletti's injury at Spa-Francorchamps.
"I've always believed in the possibilities of a developmental path between GP3 and GP2, and when the right opportunity came, with the chance to progressively take over Addax, I decided to go for it."
Addax clinched the GP2 teams' title this year with Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde, and team boss Alejandro Agag says the squad wants to focus exclusively in the F1 feeder series.
"Addax is pleased with this agreement with Trident, that will allow us to focus on our core activity of GP2," he said. "We think this will allow our team to be more competitive in the feeder series to F1.
"We have gained very important experience in GP3, and we wish Trident the best in this new challenge for them."
