Senna remains undefeated

Bruno Senna made it three wins out of three in this year's British Formula Three Championship by taking the first race at Donington Park today (Sunday)

But the Brazilian was lucky on this occasion, as some appalling luck struck his Double R Racing teammate Mike Conway in the wet conditions.

Conway took the lead from pole position and was controlling the race when he stumbled over some well-concealed debris at the chicane at the end of lap five. The Briton was the first to come across the piece of bodywork, which was a remnant of an accident involving two backmarkers. With the object stuck beneath his car, he was unable to stop for the next corner at Redgate and dropped several positions.

This left Senna with a handsome lead over Carlin Motorsport driver Maro Engel, James Walker (Hitech Racing) and Double R's Stephen Jelley. Then Engel outbraked himself at the chicane a lap later and this allowed Walker to pass.

The German retired on the following lap after a dispute over third with Jelley. Engel and Jelley then held station to the end, just ahead of Carlin's Oliver Jarvis.

Rodolfo Gonzalez (T-Sport) also remains undefeated in the National Class this year, taking a flag-to-flag win after pole starter Rodolfo Avila was unable to convert his advantage when the lights turned green.

Full result to follow.
