Buemi takes first F3 win

Sebastien Buemi became the sixth different winner from the opening six rounds in the Formula Three Euroseries at Oschersleben on Sunday

F3 rookie Buemi (Mucke Motorsport) leapt into the lead from second on the grid at the start, as reverse grid pole sitter Guillaume Moreau (Signature) appeared too over-anxious to avoid jumping it as he had done two races ago at Lausitz. Sebastian Vettel (ASM) also passed the Frenchman on the run to the first corner, so Moreau had to settle for third.

Championship leader and Saturday race winner Paul di Resta bogged down at the start, and would complete the opening lap down in 17th. He was joined near the back by team-mate Vettel a couple of laps later, when the German spun off at the fast chicane while attempting to pressure Buemi for the lead.

That moved Moreau up to second, ahead of the Manor Motorsport trio of Kohei Hirate, Esteban Guerrieri and Kazuki Nakajima.

The order looked settled until Moreau ploughed off the circuit with just two laps to go, gifting second place to Hirate. He weaved to try and keep Guerrieri back, but the Argentine pulled off a rare passing manoeuvre around the outside of the slower of Oschersleben's two chicanes to snatch an unlikely podium finish.

That extra point gained moved Guerrieri into the championship lead over di Resta, who trailed home 13th.

Romain Grosjean (Signature) was the final point scorer in sixth. Americans Charlie Kimball (Signature) and Jonathan Summerton (Mucke) crashed out.
