Salignon strikes back

Eric Salignon claimed his second Formula 3 Euroseries win of the year at Adria, but his victory owed much to the mechanical trouble that slowed his team-mate Jamie Green

From pole position Green made an excellent start and led throughout the early stages. Salignon's getaway was less good, but this came to his aid as the fast-starting Nico Rosberg was punted out in the first corner by an over-optimistic Nico Rosberg.

Alexandre Premat initially made it an ASM one-two-three, but he was displaced by Franck Perera early on. The top three ran in close formation from then on until Green's car developed a problem in the final third of the race. He was powerless to prevent Salignon diving into the lead at turn one, but fended off Perara for long enough for Salignon to establish a race-winning advantage.

Green eventually dropped back to eight, but the final point could prove crucial come the end of the season. Daniel La Rosa survived a wheel-banging from Premat to nick his first podium of the year, holding off Nicolas Lapierre to the flag.

Lewis Hamilton took fifth after passing Giedo van der Garde on the final lap, but Tom Kimber-Smith had a frustratingly brief race and was taken out on the opening lap.
