Qualifying 2: Courtney doubles up

James Courtney enhanced his reputation as the best qualifier in British F3 by taking yet another pole position in the second session at Knockhill - his seventh of the year. The Carlin Motorsport driver, and sometime Jaguar F1 tester, again pipped Dane Ronnie Bremer to the top spot

Bremer was less than a tenth behind the Australian as he claimed his second front row starting position of the year, while Bruce Jouanny was third quickest for Promatecme. There were two red flags in the 20-minute session, which was littered with spins and offs. One of the principal suffers was Fabio Carbone, who will start from a disappointing 13th after missing the majority of the session following an off.

Another underachiever was Heikki Kovalainen, who had a couple of off track moments and lines up eighth.

In the Scholarship class normal service was resumed as Sweeney's Adam Carroll took yet another pole. It was another good session for the Meritus team as its drivers took second and third positions.
