Maiden pole for Jarvis

Oliver Jarvis recorded his first British F3 pole position as Carlin Motorsport bounced back in the second Mondello Park qualifying session today

The 2005 McLaren Autosport Award winner heads Hitech Racing driver James Walker by almost three tenths of a second after another damp session at the Irish venue. This time, however, the leading runners all used slick tyres.

Championship leader Mike Conway took another third place on the grid, ahead of Christian Bakkerud and Hitech's James Jakes, for whom fifth is his best qualifying result in his rookie season. The Formula Renault graduate is one spot ahead of race one pole man Bruno Senna.

Stephen Jelley's up and down season continued: he's only eleventh after qualifying on the front row for the first race.

Rodolfo Gonzalez maintained his crushing and consistent National Class form with yet another class pole.
