Hamilton on Top Again

Lewis Hamilton moved a step closer to wrapping up the Formula Three Euroseries title by taking a hard-earned pole position for this afternoon's race at Zandvoort

Hamilton on Top Again

Hamilton now needs to out-score ASM teammate Adrian Sutil by four points in this weekend's races in the Netherland to succeed fellow Briton Jamie Green as the Euroseries title holder.

Sutil made Hamilton fight for the race one pole and was at the top of the timesheets, when Esteban Guerrieri brought out a late-session red flag following a heavy off in his Team Midland Euroseries car. But with just seconds of the session remaining, Hamilton zipped round in 1:31.259 to take pole, and a bonus point, by three tenths of a second.

Lucas di Grassi starts third for Manor, teammate Paul di Resta is fourth. BAR Young Driver James Rossiter (Signature) had a tough session and will line up a disappointing 11th, while former British F3 race winner Rob Austin, who is making his Euroseries debut this weekend for Midland, starts 21st.
