Grosjean takes second pole
French drivers Romain Grosjean and Guillaume Moreau claimed the front row for Monday's second British Formula 3 race at Pau. The home duo continued a dominant weekend for the Signature team, the Formula 3 Euroseries squad which is competing at Pau as a one-off
But Mike Conway was once again the best of the British championship regulars, recording the third-best time for Double R Racing. This was despite a heavy accident at Foch that came just moments after setting his best time.
Maro Engel got through the session unscathed today and will start fourth ahead of Yelmer Buurman (Fortec Motorsport) and Oliver Jarvis (Carlin Motorsport). Carlin's third driver Christian Bakkerud was less lucky, getting caught up in an early incident and failing to set a representative time.
It was another unhappy day for points leader Bruno Senna, who could only manage fourteenth. Given that he will start the first race seventh, Conway and the other chasers will be very mindful of the golden chance to eat into Senna's rather healthy championship lead.
The first race takes place later this afternoon. The second race doubles as the 66th Pau Grand Prix and goes ahead tomorrow.
