Engel makes it double pole at Spa
Maro Engel made it a double pole position for this weekend's pair of British F3 races at Spa-Francorchamps
Engel had already taken top spot for this afternoon's first race, and repeated the feat in today's qualifying for race two. This time, he edged out Double R Racing driver Bruno Senna.
This is Carlin Motorsport's first double pole of the season, and it sets up a strong possibility of a first series win for Engel.
The German will have teammate Christian Bakkerud behind him, the Dane leading the second row after another hot and dry session. Next to him will be another Carlin driver, Oliver Jarvis.
Jarvis lies second in the championship and the race could be a good chance to close up on points leader Mike Conway. The Double R driver could only manage ninth place in this session.
But National Class points leader Rodolfo Gonzalez had no such worries. The T-Sport man made it two poles in a row in the category for 2004-spec machinery.
