Duran to miss Thruxton
Salvador Duran will miss the British F3 finale at Thruxton this weekend due to clashing A1 GP commitments
The Mexican will drive for his nation this weekend at Zandvoort, returning for a second season after scoring two victories in the series last winter.
He could be replaced for the Thruxton F3 races this weekend, if Hitech Racing are satisfied with any of the potential candidates they will try out during the week.
"It's unfortunate that Salvador has a previous arrangement to race in A1 GP," said Hitech boss David Hayle, "but his sponsor has asked us to evaluate some other drivers.
"We'll be doing that this week, and then we will make a decision as to whether we run a replacement."
Despite his impressive performances last winter, the 2005 British F3 National class champion failed to build on his momentum when the F3 season kicked off.
Hayle believes that the driving style required for A1 GP has hindered Duran's ability to be fast in F3, and the Mexican rounded off his season with a pair of tenth-place finishes at Silverstone last weekend.
