Carlin sign Philippe for Euro Series
Carlin Motorsport have confirmed their entry to this season's Formula Three Euro Series by signing former World Series by Renault racer Richard Philippe
The 18-year-old Frenchman won the Formula BMW USA Championship in his first season of racing in 2005, before moving on to Champ Car Atlantic and the World Series.
His World Series campaign was hampered when he missed several races after breaking his hand on two separate occasions at Monza and Spa last season. He's hoping to get his career back on track in F3 this year.
"I'm excited to be joining Carlin," he said. "This marks a new chapter in my career, one that is unavoidable to reach the highest form of motorsport in the world.
"The Euro Series is very competitive and as a new driver and team, we will have a lot to learn very quickly. Nevertheless, I believe we'll be running at the front before long."
Carlin are expected to confirm a second driver before the opening Euro Series test of the season at Valencia on March 15-16.
