Soucek to test for Carlin DPR

World Series by Renault front-runner Andy Soucek will test for Carlin DPR at Valencia later this week

Soucek will join the experienced Ernesto Viso at the team for the Valencia test. Viso has already raced in the series for two seasons, while Soucek was Spanish F3 champion in 2005 before graduating to the World Series by Renault.

The Spaniard finished as runner-up to Alx Danielsson in the World Series this year, when Trevor Carlin saw him up close as a rival.

"Having seen Andy race first hand in World Series this year, it is obvious that he is incredibly talented," said Carlin, who also has a team in the Renault-backed championship.

"Andy is ready to make the jump into a higher formula, and we're delighted to be able to offer him the opportunity to test with the team."

Soucek's former World Series team Interwetten.com have confirmed that they will test former British F3 driver and A1GP race winner Salvador Duran over the winter.

The Mexican is expected to test for GP2 and F3 Euro Series teams as well in a bid to gain as much experience as possible prior to 2007.
