Ricardo Zonta is relishing the opportunity to get away from the pressures of Grand Prix racing in his role as Jordan test-driver, but has not ruled out a return to racing one day.
Brazilian Zonta endured a torrid spell as a driver with British American Racing before joining Jordan late last year.
He hopes the move from driver to test-driver will help him rebuild his career in Formula One so that one day he can return to the grid a better driver.
"I have had two difficult seasons before this and it was not easy to find a team to race with," said Zonta. "I think this was the best opportunity for me with Jordan here.
"We can be successful. I know there is a lot of work to do, a lot of testing. Of course, in the future, I want to race again, but I can learn a lot here. It is the trend now for the big teams to want to have experienced test drivers. I want to do the job well."
Zonta will provide support to Jordan drivers Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jarno Trulli this year.
