Wurz: Alonso won't be rattled by Hamilton

World champion Fernando Alonso will not be rattled by McLaren teammate Lewis Hamilton, according to Williams driver Alexander Wurz

Briton Hamilton has made a sensational debut in Formula One, becoming the first driver in history to score podiums in his first three races.

The rookie has scored as many points as his teammate, and he beat Alonso for the first time in a race in last week's Bahrain Grand Prix.

But Wurz, a former McLaren test driver, believes Alonso will not be intimidated by Hamilton's results, and reckons the Briton has still some way to go before he can match the Spaniard.

"I'm sure Fernando, as a double world champion, has a strong personality and I don't think he's afraid after having beaten (Michael) Schumacher," Wurz told Spanish daily Marca.

"Lewis has been (with McLaren) for many years and Alonso just got there, but I'm sure McLaren will know how to handle the situation in the best possible manner like they did with Prost and Senna.

"Fernando has achieved a lot in the past two years and the mark he has made is incredibly big, and Lewis still needs to improve.

"Although he has made a very strong start, I honestly think there is still a long way to go before he can win championships like Fernando has."
