Jaguar Racing's Mark Webber set the fastest time in the morning hours at Barcelona, where testing resumed with five of the Michelin-shod teams and a solo Bridgestone-shod team on track.

Webber set a time of 1:18.192 - just a few thousandths of a second ahead of Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya.

Webber's teammate, Anotonio Pizzonia, was sidelined for the majority of the morning, after he crashed his car on the first timed lap, damaging the chassis extensively. He is expected to resume testing this afternoon.

The morning also saw Williams, McLaren and Renault run various new talents. Williams ran Dirk Muller, ETCC BMW driver, while Renault ran Romain Dumas. McLaren gave Gary Paffett a test drive, as part of his prize for winning the 2002 German F3 championship.

Testing continues this afternoon.
