Webber Expecting to Lose Brazil Points

Australian Mark Webber is expecting to lose his first points of the season after tomorrow's FIA hearing in Paris, where the results of the Brazilian Grand Prix will be reviewed.

Australian Mark Webber is expecting to lose his first points of the season after tomorrow's FIA hearing in Paris, where the results of the Brazilian Grand Prix will be reviewed.

Webber, in his first season with the Milton Keynes outfit, was awarded two points for his seventh place at the Interlagos race despite crashing out of it. The Australian crashed into the tyre barriers and caused heavy damage to his car, whose debris stopped in the middle on track.

Renault driver Fernando Alonso crashed into one of Webber's tyres and the race was red-flagged. Finn Kimi Raikkonen was awarded the win, but the FIA is to review the results on Friday and it is expected that Giancarlo Fisichella and the Jordan team will be declared the winners.

Webber says he will be happy for Fisichella, even if it means that with the revised results he will be relegated to ninth place and out of the points.

"It will be disappointing if the FIA decides to overturn the original race result but that's the price you pay for making a mistake," Webber told Jaguar's website. "It would be a bit of a shame but not the end of the world because there are a lot of positives to take out of the weekend.

"Personally, I think that Giancarlo might be awarded the victory and I'll be happy for him because he's a good friend of mine. I really don't know how the leaders could have done two laps after the race was flagged but we'll just have to leave it up to the decision makers. It does seem strange to me."
