Vettel feeling no added pressure
Sebastian Vettel says he is not feeling under pressure to to fulfil Germany's hopes following the retirement of Michael Schumacher
Vettel, who made his Formula One debut with the BMW team last season during Friday practice sessions, will remain in that position during 2007.
Seven-time champion Schumacher left the sport at the end of last season, and Vettel has been tipped as a future star after he made an instant impression in the sport last year, showing impressive speed right from the start.
But despite that, Vettel is playing down the hype and says he is not under pressure to fill the void left by Schumacher.
"I think the press is in the position of saying 'Okay, Vettel, now you have to replace Michael', but in my opinion that is completely ridiculous," said Vettel.
"What Michael has done for the sport is just amazing. In Germany, Michael Schumacher stands for F1.
"So, to compare anybody with him is nonsense. As far as I'm concerned, I don't feel pressure to fulfil anyone's hopes. I'll just concentrate on my stuff and enjoy it."
