Toyota's Testing Hampered by Weather

Briton Allan McNish completed his final pre-season test on Sunday but had preparations for his Formula One debut in Australia hampered by adverse weather conditions.

McNish and Toyota will make their debut in Melbourne on March 3rd, but had the final test affected by wet weather at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France.

"We had some really bad weather, making it impossible to drive," said McNish. "We were able to do some small tuning work in preparation for our first ever Grand Prix in Melbourne and we additionally worked on launch and traction control."

McNish's teammate Finn Mika Salo was also on duty for the newcomers and the duo have now completed more than 6,000 miles of testing since the winter ban was lifted in January.

Due to the bad weather conditions in France, the BAR team decided to change their final testing plans and join Renault at Silversone. If the weather in France improves, though, the team will resume testing at Paul Ricard tomorrow.
