Spyker duo disappointed with B-spec debut

Spyker driver Adrian Sutil is expecting to be more competitive at the Belgian Grand Prix next weekend after the team's B-spec car endured a disappointing race debut

The Dutch squad finally introduced the heavily revised car at Monza, but both Sutil and teammate Sakon Yamamoto qualified at the bottom of he grid and then went on to finish last.

Sutil said Monza was not the best track to see the real progress of the car and he is expecting a stronger showing at Spa next weekend.

"There is no real improvement. I can't really say anything about it. We expected more, but the gap is really big. It's too big," Sutil said at Monza.

"It's not the best track to get a new car that probably has more downforce, because you don't use the downforce here really.

"So I don't think there was a really big difference. The only thing that we are using at the moment is the floor, but that has been modified as well for this circuit, so everything is really simple.

"We tried to take off all the wings, just to get more top speed, and maybe we should just wait a little bit until a real circuit comes."

He added: "Spa is a real downforce circuit. That is really our last chance to show it (the car's potential)."

Yamamoto was also unsure about the new car's real potential after the Italian race.

"It's quite difficult to say," said Yamamoto. "It's hard to directly compare the A and the B. From Turkey to here, the downforce level is completely difference. But generally, I felt that the car was more stable, especially in braking and turning, which is an improvement.

"We want to have a good race, and I am looking forward to driving at Spa. I have never been there before. Everyone says it is a nice track, and I am really looking forward to it. Maybe I need to practice on the Playstation."
