Schumacher not ready to give up

Michael Schumacher says he is determined to keep on fighting for this year's title despite the disappointment of the Turkish Grand Prix

Despite having what looked like a more competitive car, the Ferrari driver finished behind championship rival Fernando Alonso in the race.

The Spanish Renault driver increased his lead over Schumacher to 12 points after finishing in second place following a thrilling battle against Schumacher.

But with 40 points still available, Schumacher is not ready to give up.

"Okay, the race at Istanbul didn't do us any good in the fight for the championship," said Schumacher on Monday.

"Okay, so it's become a little more difficult now. But to think we'd give up now would be a huge mistake. It's still possible for us to secure the title, and each and every one of us wants it.

"There are still 40 points to be scored, so anything is still possible. We will continue to attack and put the pressure on and we will keep on taking risks, because that is the only way to do it.

"I don't like to make any promises, but I will promise one thing: we will keep going all out to score this title."
