Schumacher Hot Favourite to Win in Brazil

World champion Michael Schumacher is the hottest favourite in years to win Sunday's Brazilian Formula One Grand Prix, according to London bookmakers.

World champion Michael Schumacher is the hottest favourite in years to win Sunday's Brazilian Formula One Grand Prix, according to London bookmakers.

"We cannot remember quoting anyone at shorter odds within the last decade," said William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe after the bookmakers posted odds of 8-13 for the German Ferrari driver.

Schumacher has won the last six races after starting all of them on pole position.

He was quoted at 1-4 to take his fourth world title this season, with McLaren's David Coulthard the second favourite in the championship race at 5-1.

"Michael is now dominating F1 betting like Tiger Woods does in golf majors betting," Sharpe said.

Schumacher's Brazilian teammate Rubens Barrichello was quoted at 5-1 to win Sunday's race -- the third of the 17-round season -- along with the McLaren duo of Mika Hakkinen and Coulthard.

Germans Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who drives a Jordan, and Schumacher's younger brother Ralf in a Williams were both quoted by Hill at 25-1.

Ladbrokes offered the same race odds on the leading drivers, but had Ralf at 20-1 ahead of Frentzen on 25-1.
