Sato Calls for Penalty System Rethink

Jordan driver Takuma Sato on Saturday afternoon said the controversial new dangerous driving penalties should be revised to ensure punishments are given at the event in which the misconduct was carried out.
The FIA are yet to use their ten-position grid penalty, and Sato, whose aggressive driving style has seen him incur a number of spins in his short three-race Grand Prix career, believes the system should be changed.
"It is really difficult to say something from my person at the moment, but what happens if a car at the back of the grid does something wrong?," asked Sato. "It will make no difference. The penalty should be in the same weekend, not two weeks later. I think that is better."
Sato outqualified his Italian teammate Giancarlo Fisichella for the first time on Saturday, and although the more experienced Fisichella had trouble in qualifying Sato believes he will soon be able to compete alongside him.
"I believe so," said confident Sato. "Today it was hard to drive for here, but I think we have done almost equal to everything. But still definitely he has more experience than me and that is why I have to follow him."
