Rosberg vows to change starts approach
Nico Rosberg says he will change his approach to Grand Prix starts after his much-talked about first corner incident with Williams teammate Mark Webber in Malaysia
Rosberg, making his Formula One debut this season, had qualified third for the Sepang race, but a poor start allowed Webber to have a chance to pass him before the first corner.
Rosberg, however, squeezed Webber and the move helped Renault's Fernando Alonso, who passed both Williams drivers around the outside of the first corner.
The young German driver revealed Williams had a word with him following the incident, and Rosberg claims he will change his approach.
"Yeah, I will for sure," Rosberg told reporters in Australia. "Because there are also ways to help yourself into the first corner so I will change things, adapt, for sure.
"Yeah, they did, of course," he added when asked if Williams had talked to him about the start. "That is the whole point, I have to learn so they need to tell me what they think also for me to improve, so we had a word and I will try to do it better next time."
Rosberg said, however, there were no problems with Webber.
"He is a great teammate to have, for sure," said Rosberg. "He is very quick and he has given me respect from the word go even though I am some young guy coming in and supports me also in the media, which is great for me also, so I can only thank him for the way he is. We have been working well together.
"As for the start incident, I think it wasn't a problem and he also sees it that way. The only problem was that together we compromised ourselves because Alonso got by, which shouldn't happen.
"Fighting between each other but we cannot go to the extent that it allows others to go by, that is wrong."
