Renault will only Celebrate after Season
Renault are going to have to wait until after the season has finished before they can fully celebrate their World Championship success, claims one of the team's leading figures
Denis Chevrier, Renault's head of engine operations, says that although the French manufacturer have spent their time since Brazil enjoying Fernando Alonso's success, the battle for the Constructors' Championship means that they cannot fully let their hair down just yet.
"I think time goes so quickly, and this season has been so hectic, that we'll have to enjoy this success very quickly because there are still two races to go before the end of the championship and we want to win it," he said.
"Right now we're enjoying ourselves, but immediately we'll be back hard on our work. The real pleasure will come at the end of the season, when we'll be able to look back and enjoy this title. Then we'll enjoy the fact we were the ones that gave Fernando the chance to win the title."
The fact that rivals McLaren have enjoyed a speed advantage for the second half of the season means Renault need to do everything they can to try and lift their R25 closer to the pace if they are going to have a realistic chance of the Constructors' Championship.
And Chevrier has confirmed that the team are planning major upgrades for both the Japanese and Chinese Grands Prix - with an E-spec RS25 engine due to be introduced in Shanghai.
"We'll put everything we have, like we've done all season," said Chevrier. "In Brazil we put on the car as many new parts as we could, the engines were different from Spa; we never stop working and we'll keep on working too until the end of the year.
"We won't take anything out of a hat, because if we had something else for Brazil we would have put it on the cars, but we'll fight with our weapons until the end."
