Renault Pair Positive for the Race

Italian Jarno Trulli was happy with his performance in today's final qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix and is confident of continuing with his strong weekend in tomorrow's race.

Italian Jarno Trulli was happy with his performance in today's final qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix and is confident of continuing with his strong weekend in tomorrow's race.

"A positive weekend for me so far with a very good qualifying position," admitted Trulli after posting the fourth fastest time of the day. "The team has done a great job and the car has been constantly competitive.

"I believe we have a good strategy and I'm looking forward to tomorrow's race."

Trulli, who was also fourth quickest on the first day, is looking to achieve his best result of the season so far, having finished in fifth position twice this year.

Renault teammate Fernando Alonso will start the race from eighth position after recovering from a difficult start of the his day. The young Spaniard, currently fourth in the Championship, lost a lot of valuable time this morning after crashing his car in practice.

"Considering that this morning's session was spoiled for me by my spin, which made me miss a lot of track time, I am quite satisfied with my qualifying result," said Alonso. "I did a good lap and I am happy to start in eight position on tomorrow's grid."
