Ralf Under No Illusions for the Race

Williams driver Ralf Schumacher said his team will have a hard time trying to beat rivals Ferrari and McLaren at tomorrow's Belgian Grand Prix.

Williams driver Ralf Schumacher said his team will have a hard time trying to beat rivals Ferrari and McLaren at tomorrow's Belgian Grand Prix.

Both Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya have been unable to match the pace of their rivals during most of the weekend, and the German finished down in fourth in today's qualifying, more than half a second off the pole position time set by his brother Michael in the first Ferrari.

"Our weekend hasn't been too positive so far," admitted Ralf. "It has been no easy job for us to find the right balance for our car and to take the tyres to the right temperatures quick enough.

"However I was quite satisfied at the end of qualifying. It won't be easy to beat the Ferraris or the McLarens in the race."

Colombian Montoya, Ralf's teammate and the pole-setter last year at Spa, filled the third row with McLaren's David Coulthard, the Williams driver completing his worst qualifying performance since the Australian Grand Prix.

"Not at all the qualifying I expected here," said Montoya. "I struggled with the car balance and could not improve as much as I was hoping. We tried a few things to see if we could find some more tenths but they were not enough. In my third attempt I was held up by Raikkonen and lost some time there.

"I haven't qualified on the third row since Australia but still I like this track and I hope my race will be more satisfying than this qualifying."
