Ralf Relying on Strategy to Repeat Imola Win

German Ralf Schumacher says a good strategy at tomorrow's San Marino Grand Prix can help him beat rivals Ferrari despite losing out in today's qualifying.

German Ralf Schumacher says a good strategy at tomorrow's San Marino Grand Prix can help him beat rivals Ferrari despite losing out in today's qualifying.

Schumacher, winner of last year's race at Imola, will start the race on Sunday from third place on the grid after being unable to match the pace of brother Michael and his Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello, who secured an all-Ferrari front row.

But the younger Schumacher, who trails his brother by eight points in the standings, is still confident of repeating last year's success despite the Ferrari domination.

"We can be reasonably happy as we are very close to Ferrari," said Schumacher. "I failed to improve my time in the last run due to a mistake. Last year I started third here and I had my first victory in F1, so why couldn't it be the same this year?

"A good strategy can take you everywhere. Lots can happen in a race but whatever happens tomorrow, we will try to get some points."

Schumacher's teammate Juan Pablo Montoya was fourth quickest after struggling during practice on Friday.
