Ralf, Montoya Aiming Higher for 2003

German Ralf Schumacher and Colombian teammate Juan Pablo Montoya have set higher targets for the 2003 season.

"Hopes for our team are high, as are my own," said Schumacher after his team unveiled the new FW25 at the Barcelona circuit. "I hope that the chassis lives up to its promises, that the new BMW engine will be the best in the field again, and that both will lead to race wins. In 2002, I achieved the only victory for our team.

"There should be more wins in 2003. The team will continue to benefit from the fact that the performance of Juan Pablo Montoya and myself are on a par. Naturally, collisions within the team such as the one at Indianapolis should not happen again."

Schumacher, the younger brother of World Champion Michael, scored the Williams team's sole victory in 2002 despite starting the year as favourites to dethrone the dominant Ferrari team. The Italian squad won all but two of the 17 races of the year.

Schumacher finished in fourth place in the Drivers' Championship behind teammate Montoya, who failed to score any wins in 2002 despite starting from pole position seven times. The Colombian said he is hungry for more wins following his victory at the 2001 Italian Grand Prix.

"My last win goes back to September 2001 - I'm hungry. I want to win some GPs and hope that I've got the technical possibilities to do that," said Montoya.
