Ralf in no hurry to sort out future
Ralf Schumacher's manager Hans Mahr says his driver will only start talking to Toyota about a extension of his contract later this year
Schumacher's current three-year deal expires at the end of this season, but there have been reports in Germany linking BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld to the team, although Toyota denied any talks with the German driver.
Mahr hit out at the speculation, and said Schumacher will begin talks about his future in due time.
"There is obviously an agenda to confuse some things here," Mahr said on Schumacher's official website. "Allow me to clarify: Ralf's Toyota contract expires at the end of the year and we are in contact with the management all the time.
"However, we agreed with Toyota quite some time ago, that we would get together to talk about an extension towards the middle of the year. And we are sticking to this schedule."
Mahr also said there were no worries about Schumacher's future, claiming his talent makes him a wanted driver for any team.
"Ralf is one of the best Formula One drivers in the world," he added. "There is no need to worry about his future. If he wants to drive, there will always be a cockpit waiting for him."
