Ralf Aiming to Dethrone Brother Michael

The BMW-powered Williams team have set their sights on winning the Formula One World Championship this year according to Ralf Schumacher, although he admits it will be hard to dethrone his brother Michael's Ferrari team.

In an interview published in Friday's Stuttgarter Zeitung, Ralf Schumacher said BMW-Williams chief Frank Williams had told the team he would not be content with a handful of victories this year and instead had set a goal of winning the title.

"It's quite clear Williams doesn't want to just win three or four races - Williams wants to win the Championship," said Schumacher, who helped BMW-Williams to a third place last year behind Ferrari and Mercedes-McLaren. Ralf Schumacher won three Grands Prix last year and had 49 points in the drivers' standings, while teammate Juan Pablo Montoya took his first win at Monza and finished with 31 points.

"Everyone hopes that we will be running against Ferrari for the Championship," Schumacher added. "But it will basically be very difficult to fight against my brother....They have an excellent team, a team with a lot of harmony."

Schumacher added that he was not worried about competition from his teammate Montoya.

"Competition makes everyone better," he said. "And the one in front...has the status of being the number one. Montoya and I are both drivers who have chances to win the title."
