Rain Hampers Valencia Test - Day Three

Heavy rain during most of the day hindered the teams on their third day of work at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. The Spanish track was wet during the whole session, and there was little work done by the five Formula One teams present.

World Champion Michael Schumacher finished on top of the times on Ferrari's final day of work before the unveiling of their new car on Friday.

The German, who in the morning spent more time walking his dog than driving his car, completed 58 laps in the afternoon to finish with a best time of 1:21.766. Schumacher was nearly two seconds quicker than teammate Rubens Barrichello, who completed only 14 laps.

The McLaren-Mercedes teams covered just 14 laps during the day, with Pedro de la Rosa at the wheel of the MP4-19B. Teammate Alexander Wurz was also at Valencia but did not complete a single lap, just like BAR's Jenson Button and Toyota's Ralf Schumacher.

Nick Heidfeld completed the most laps with his Williams-BMW. The German, who took over from teammate Mark Webber, covered 60 laps after causing the first red flag of the day when his car stopped on track.

Button, Heidfeld and Italian Jarno Trulli will be in action at Valencia tomorrow.
