Raikkonen: title still within reach

The Finn has dropped 15 points behind McLaren rivals Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton in the last two races, following a retirement in Spain and an eighth place in Monaco.

But the Ferrari driver says he has already put the Monte Carlo race behind him and he is aiming to return to top form this weekend in Canada.

"Monaco is just a distant memory," the Finn wrote on his website.

"Now everything is changed for Canada. One thing is for sure, McLaren will not be one minute ahead of us like they were in Monaco," he added, referring to McLaren's dominant one-two in Monaco.

With 12 races to go, Raikkonen reckons he is still capable of fighting back to reduce the gap to his rivals.

"The gap is not that big and my position is not that miserable. A couple of good races for us and a couple of bad ones for the competitors and the whole situation would look totally different.

"I feel I am very much in with a chance of fighting for the championship. I will do my best to finish and win as many races as possible and we will see at the end of the year where we end up in the championship."
