Prost: Jarno is ready to win

Jarno Trulli is ready to take Formula One by storm, according to team boss Alain Prost

The former world champion believes Trulli will come of age when he joins Jordan next season.

Prost claims Trulli, who finised second in the European Grand Prix, is ready to win races.

'Jarno is ready to win and that is why he is leaving us,' said Prost.

'I know just how strong he is and I would have kept him (if I could).

'Not only is he quick, but he is able to race very well, and (at the Nurburgring) that ability was vital.

'I thought for him to move and try to get a new environment was maybe not too bad.'

Prost, who won four world titles between 1985 and 1993, believes Trulli was lured by the prospect of driving a front-running car.

He added, 'It would be a shame for him if we have a good car next year.

'I know that if we could prove we were going to have a good car next year, he would have preferred to stay with us.

'But he needs to have a good car, and today Jordan is a better car than ours.'
