Panis Still Hungry for Success

Frenchman Olivier Panis is setting his sights on scoring Toyota's first Formula One podium with the team's new TF104 car which was unveiled today in Cologne.

Frenchman Olivier Panis is setting his sights on scoring Toyota's first Formula One podium with the team's new TF104 car which was unveiled today in Cologne.

"The aim for this year is very clear," Panis, the oldest driver on next season's grid, said. "We want to be competitive at every race and that means scoring points in every race, and progress throughout the year to try to challenge for the team's first ever podium position.

"At the beginning of last year I needed to learn the team and they needed to learn the way that I like to work. That is all finished now and we can go to the first race of the season certain that we can extract the maximum from ourselves and from the car."

Despite his age, 37-year old Panis, who made his Formula One debut in 1994, says he is still hungry for success.

"I think I want to succeed more now than at any time in the past," he said. "I really believe in what we have at Toyota and want to ensure that we achieve success in Formula One as soon as possible."
