No pressure on us, says Jordan

Team boss Eddie Jordan claims his team will not be under pressure at this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix.

'The way I see it, we have everything to win, and nothing to lose,' he said.

'The European Grand Prix was a huge disappointment for us, for Damon [Hill] and particularly for Heinz-Harald [Frentzen], but we have to put that behind us.

Both Jordan drivers retired from the Nurburgring race with electrical problems.

It was a blow German driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who went into the race just ten points adrift of championship leaders Mika Hakkinen and Eddie Irvine.

'Heinz still has a shot of improving on his third place in the Drivers' Championship and I believe we can consolidate our third place in the Constructors' Championship,' insisted Jordan.

'I also believe Damon will have two very good races.

'They will be the last two of his F1 career, and I would not be surprised if he pulled off something special, in Suzuka particularly.'

Despite being new to the F1 calendar, Jordan's technical director Mike Gasgoyne says the team has a good idea of what to expect at Sepang.

'From an engineering point of view, we use very detailed circuit maps to do computer simulations and predict the racing line.

'We know the optimum level of downforce and with that downforce we can find out speeds at each point on the track and then optimise gear ratios.'
