No Let-Up from Ferrari, Warns Brawn

Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn said on Monday that Ferrari will not rest on their laurels despite easing to a comfortable one-two in the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.

Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn said on Monday that Ferrari will not rest on their laurels despite easing to a comfortable one-two in the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.

The new F2002 has a 100 per cent record after World Champion Michael Schumacher landed victory in Brazil and then followed that with success at Imola ahead of teammate Rubens Barrichello.

But Brawn warned that the World Champions will not be taking things easy ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix in two weeks time and insisted there will be further improvements to the already-dominant car.

"We must still expect to work very hard to the end of the season," he maintained. "The car is not perfect and we know what we have to do to improve it. There will be some improvements for the next race in Barcelona, I hope.

"In this business, to stand still means to go backwards, so the development has to continue."

Brawn admitted that the Imola result was perfect for the team in their own backyard and hailed the performance of Ferrari's Bridgestone tyres.

"It was a very good result. I would say it was perfect," he said. "The tyres were very good and I think Bridgestone are now very competitive in all kinds of conditions. It was also a great race from the team who did a good job in Rubens' first pit stop to get him out ahead of Ralf Schumacher."
