Mosley to meet with carmakers in Monaco
FIA president Max Mosley will meet with Formula One's car manufacturers at the Monaco Grand Prix in a bid to make further progress on the introduction of new technologies in the sport, autosport.com has learned
F1 is set to embrace radically different regulations in the near future, with energy renewal devices and more environmentally-friendly technologies adopted to make Grand Prix racing more relevant to the road car industry.
And although discussions between the FIA, teams and executives from the car companies have been ongoing for several months, it is understood that the Monaco meeting is part of a move to ensure the momentum behind making changes is not lost.
The FIA itself has shown how keen it is to get the future direction of energy efficient technologies correct by appointing the company Ricardo, an automotive technology and engineering specialist, to provide technical support and advice on such rules.
Mosley said: "The FIA is working closely with the automotive manufacturers to develop energy-efficient and environmentally relevant regulation changes for the future of F1.
"Ricardo has a vast amount of experience in automotive research and development and will be an invaluable addition to this process."
