Montoya Not Expecting to Challenge Ferrari

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya said after qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday that even the hot weather predicted for Sunday's race will not help his Williams-BMW team overhaul the mighty Ferrari.

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya said after qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday that even the hot weather predicted for Sunday's race will not help his Williams-BMW team overhaul the mighty Ferrari.

The Italian team finished one-two in every session at the Hungaroring this weekend, with World Champion Michael Schumacher and his Brazilian teammate Rubens Barrichello in top form.

And after the pair made the front row their own for the fourth time this year, the first time since the Spanish Grand Prix in April, Montoya admitted that their dominance on the twisty track can only be halted by their own mechanical failure.

"If it is hot it will be a bit better for us, I hope, but the only way we can win here is if they break down," said a disconsolate Montoya. "I don't think this is really a good track for us."

Schumacher has not failed to finish a race since the German Grand Prix in 2001, 17 races ago, so the odds on Montoya's hopes coming to fruition look unlikely as Ferrari target their fourth consecutive constructors' title.
