Montoya focused on race, not title

The Colombian is six points behind the five-time world champion with just four races left to run. Montoya took victory in the recent German Grand Prix, but has struggled to adapt to the Hungaroring in past years, only finishing in 11th place at the track last season.

"We haven't performed very well in Hungary recently," confessed Montoya, "but our car is much improved this year, so I am sure it will suit the Hungaroring much better. I know the team is very motivated, and so am I, and all the partners like Michelin are pushing very hard.

"I am not interested in talking about championships, because the only way these are won is by concentrating on each race as it comes, and that is where my focus lies at the moment."

One factor that could play into Montoya's hands in his battle with Schumacher is the hot weather expected in Hungary, which should favour Michelin over rival tyre supplier Bridgestone.

"It is going to be a very hot weekend as usual," said the Colombian, "and no doubt this is positive for us, first of all because our Michelin tyres perform very well in the heat and also because I have no problem with the physical effort required. I have been working out hard in the last few months and I have been doing the same last week in Miami. I feel fit and ready for any hot conditions."
