Montoya Enjoys Beating Schumacher at Home GP

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya said beating Ferrari's World Champion Michael Schumacher at his home Grand Prix was "good fun."

Schumacher collided with Montoya and skidded into the gravel with 17 laps left in today's European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Five-times champion Schumacher finished fifth, extending his overall lead to seven points after McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen was sidelined by an engine failure while leading.

Montoya, who also collided several times with Schumacher early last season, observed that "getting Michael on the track was pretty good fun, especially at home."

The Williams driver completed a one-two finish for the British squad after teammate Ralf Schumacher won his first race of the season.

"I am pleased with second position, especially because after the start I dropped into fifth." said Montoya. "I had some problems with tyre graining, so I decided to change only the rear tyres at the first pit stop, but it wasn't the right choice so I changed all of them at the second stop. On new tyres the car felt much better."
