Montagny will race at French Grand Prix
Frenchman Franck Montagny has been given the nod by the Super Aguri team to race in his home Grand Prix this weekend
The former Renault test driver replaced underperforming rookie Yuji Ide in May after the Japanese driver's superlicence was revoked by Formula One's ruling body, the FIA.
The 28-year-old Frenchman was only confirmed for the North American races, and he was unsure he would keep his seat in France.
After being confirmed for the Magny-Cours race, Montagny said racing at home will be a dream come true.
"I know that this will be my last race with Super Aguri but how happy am I that I can race at my home Grand Prix," Montagny said on his website. "I am super happy, fully recharged and in better form than ever, I have fans who will come to support me, this is the dream.
"Well, almost as the dream would be that I was able to fight for victory, but that is too big.
"We had discussed this a lot with the members of Super Aguri and I owe them a huge thank you, enormous even because they quite simply decided that I will race at Magny-Cours, which frankly was not foreseen and from Hockenheim onwards I will be certainly the third driver."
Montagny's comments suggest Japanese Sakon Yamamoto, now the team's third driver, will take over from Montagny at the German Grand Prix.
